Types of online support tools and techniques

The main tools that are used for providing online support include:

  • electronic mail (email)
  • web pages
  • conferences/online forums
  • real-time chat
  • videoconferencing (VC).

These tools may be used in conjunction with more conventional tools such as:

  • face-to-face meetings
  • phone
  • fax
  • post (snail mail).
