alternative
routes through the online materials
|
You
are free to use whichever route best suits you at the time. And
that will depend on whether you want to read more widely, focus
on activities, or concentrate on gathering specific evidence for
an assessment, etc.
You
might, for example, start working on Study
Section 1, if you wished to take a step-by-step route through
parts of the online version of the Pack.
If
you'd prefer to concentrate on what you need to do to meet all
the performance criteria for each learning outcome, you can take
the assessment route instead.
The
activity route has all of the activities
and assignments from the two study sections of the pack.
You
can choose whichever route you feel like following, or jump from
one route to another.
The
assessment route and activity route are simply possible routes
through the online version of the pack, that include essential
material. This means that they can help you to save time and focus
on the topics that are of most use to you, though it's up to you,
perhaps in consultation with your facilitator, to decide what
those topics are.
You
can find out what you need to concentrate on if you take the fast
track and quickly identify which performance criteria you can
already, or easily, meet, and which you can't.
You
can then decide how much time you want to allocate to work on
the gaps or weaker areas, and how much to work on the areas that
are more straightforward. From these considerations, you can construct
a reasonable, and realistic, learning plan that covers the next
few weeks.
Then construct a 'to do' list for what you want to work on today
and tomorrow (or the next time you think you'll get an opportunity
to work on the unit, whether online or not). Do make an effort
to keep in regular contact with your facilitator, especially
if there are lulls in progress, or lapses in motivation. If you
manage to be active and engage in exchanges with your facilitator
and others in your group throughout the programme, you'll find
it easier to maintain motivation and thus progress, and you'll
find it's more fun, too.
For
further guidance on what to do at any particular point, please
see the fast track guide.
Good
luck with your studies! :)
