Your first tasks are designed to ensure that you can use all the online tools that you have at your disposal for the programme.

All the information you require is in your Getting Connected Guide, provided by the training organisation you have enrolled with. You were probably given this on paper. If in any doubt as to whether you have such a guide or not, please contact your facilitator.

If, for any reason, you experience problems accessing the facilities you need, please contact your facilitator or training provider immediately.

The sequence of the tasks are as follows:

• finish reading this Introductory Guide
• work through the Getting Connected Guide your provider has given you, and ensure that you have access to all online facilities
• complete training provider and facilitator details
• complete the Pre-start Checklist
• report any problems to your facilitator or training provider
• get an overview of these online materials, and what is required for the assessments (see the next page, the unit specification and the assessment guide)
• raise questions on an online conference (a discussion area for your group, by arrangement with your training provider - you'll need a login and password) or by email
• give your facilitator an initial learning plan (perhaps covering the next couple of weeks)
• start working through Study Section 1, Study Section 2, the assessment-based route, or the task-based route.
